Kim Barton-Jones

Hello I am Kim,

I am the Sanctuary Manager at Idlewild Animal Sanctuary. Animals have been my love and passion for as long as I can remember. Since leaving University my work has involved many different animal related roles including; a wildlife hospital, conservation work in South Africa, Sound Therapy for pets, a Behaviour Counsellor  and a range of rehoming centres/animal sanctuaries. I joined Idlewild Animal Sanctuary as Sanctuary Manager in May 2017. At the sanctuary, I am responsible for overseeing the care and well-being of the animals and managing our team of staff and volunteers. I became a Trustee for the sanctuary in 2019 and now help with the overall running of the charity at a board level. I am responsible for overseeing the care and well-being of the animals and managing our team of staff and volunteers.

In my spare time I love to spend time with my own pets. I have a Rescue German Shepherd Troulloi, Two Ragdolls Ebony and Marmaduke and 2 foster cats from the sanctuary Ragamuffin and Shelby. I also enjoy camping, kayaking, walking and generally being in the great outdoors.

Hi im Ryan,
I am the Deputy Sanctuary Manager at Idlewild Animal Sanctuary. I have always loved animals and worked with dogs for many years. I have volunteered at the sanctuary since April 2020 and then applied for the position when it came available. I started the role in July 2021 and I am enjoying the challenge that working at the sanctuary brings. I love dealing with the animals and the people and working as a team. The difference you see in animals when they get the correct care is amazing. I hope to be a sanctuary for many years to come. At the sanctuary I am responsible for managing the shifts when the sanctuary manager is not onsite. I oversee the animals care along with the volunteers.
In my spare time I enjoy taking long walks with my Dog Benji. We can often be found down by the beach or up the mountains enjoying the fresh air. I also share my home with Mr Tibbles who is a feral cat that came in to the sanctuary and was found to have FIV so now lives with me and is enjoying attention on his own terms.
