At Idlewild Animal Sanctuary we already provide a safe haven for over 140 animals plus our rehoming programme and we are being asked more and more to take on and rehabilitate wildlife. We are receiving calls from the local vets and local people and we need to put in place a Wildlife Hospital and Rehabilitation Unit to facilitate helping all these animals in need.
Our Wildlife Hospital and Rearing unit is very busy at the moment. We currently have in 8 Gull chicks, 1 Adult Gull, 1 Magpie Fledgling, I Feral Pigeon fledgling, I Wood Pigeon Fledgling, 2 Adult Feral Pigeons and that is all on top of the 143 animals we have at the sanctuary. The Wildlife Unit has animals with a range of injuries and illness that are all receiving treatment. Theses animal require a lot of care and monitoring before they are ready to go to the outdoor pens and then eventually get released back into the wild. We are at our busiest when donations are at the lowest. Please help if you can!
