We want to say a big Thank you for purchasing these tickets and 100% of your donation from the ticket prices will help us continue to care for the animals onsite.
At the open day you will get an exclusive look around the sanctuary and get to spend some time with our resident animals. (Your tickets will have the session and times you have chosen stated on them).
Please be aware due to free ranging animal dogs are not permitted on site.
Please arrive at the start time on the ticket, the car park gate will be manned 15 mins before and 15 mins after the scheduled arrival time.
The set arrival and departure times are to help with traffic on the single-track lanes and that there is the least amount of disruption to local residents. It also allows us to plan the sessions and ensure everyone gets time with the animals.
We are aiming to run a one-way system for the traffic from the open day, just to make passing on the lane easier for everyone.
How to find us...
- The best way to get to the sanctuary is to get onto the LLanwrst Road B5106 from Conwy towards LLanwrst. You will travel along this road until you reach the Caer Rhun Hall. When you reach the first entrance for Caer Rhun Hall you will turn right. There is a Rowen sign saying 1 ½ miles, Pontwgan ½ and there will be an open day sign with an arrow.
- You will travel along the lane past the first left turn where there is a bus stop and post pox in the wall of a house, keep going further down and there will be are farm drive on the right and as the road bends around over the stone bridge there is the 2nd left up a steep hill. Take that left and travel to the top of the hill, there is a few tight bends and then as it straightens out there is a road on the right, keep going and we are the 3rd gate on the right. There will be a sign saying parking.
- Please take your time on the lanes as there are a few rocks hidden in the hedge line. We will be directing you through a farm gate and onto a field for the parking area. From here you will be directed along the path and into the sanctuary.
- On the way out you will turn left out of the parking area, down the hill to the Old bull Pub, then take a left along the lane to the end at the Y Bethol pub and then take a left and you are back on the LLanwrst Road B5106.
Feeding the Animals
If you wish to bring goodies for the animals, then apples or carrots are ideal. We will also be selling small bowls of feed for 50p each too. We will have a few fundraising stalls and some light refreshments available. Don’t forget some cash to purchase some refreshments and goodies to further support the sanctuary.
We advise that if it is wet on the day then come in outdoor clothing with either wellington boots or walking boots. When we show you round, the farm can be quite muddy if wet, so normal shoes or trainers and may be slippery.
We must ensure social distancing when onsite. Please stay in your family/household groups and always leave a safe distance between you and others. We will have Volunteers at different stations to provide you with information and we ask you keep them safe by respecting the social distancing measures. This is an outdoor event so the risks of Covid-19 transmissions are very low, we do however need to work together in these unprecedented times to keep everyone safe.
We all look forward to seeing you over the weekend. Any Problems please call the office 01492 558 691.
